My most popular class, this is a fun, sociable and delicious way to spend a Wednesday or Saturday afternoon!
As part of a small class of nine or fewer people, you will learn to create thin sushi rolls, inside-out or ‘California’ rolls, nigiri and two kinds of compressed sushi – starting with preparing sashimi and sushi rice, to fillings, rolling and presentation!
Top quality ingredients are enormously important to creating authentic Japanese food, so you will use prime tuna, sea bream or seabass and salmon sashimi as well as freshly grated Wasabi from the Wasabi Company – Europe’s only fresh wasabi provider.
Once we have prepared the sushi, we will sit down to an authentic Japanese lunch, tasting your creations, complimented by a glass or two of sake, my miso soup, and followed by green tea ice cream.
You will take home any sushi that you haven’t eaten up, a set of new skills and a full recipe and ingredients list, as well as a Yutaka Sushi Starter Kit filled with a rolling mat, sushi rice, nori sheets, vinegar, wasabi and soy sauce!
